Oxidized regenerated cellulose
Four absorbable forms,
one material science.
WACOCELL® is a family of absorbable surgical hemostats manufactured from oxidized regenerated cellulose, knitted and processed in Türkiye. Each form factor is shaped around a different surgical context.
The family
Four form factors. One material.
Every WACOCELL product is oxidized regenerated cellulose, processed into a different physical construction. The choice of construction follows the surgical site and surface geometry.

WACOCELL® Standard
Tightly woven cellulose fabric. Conforms to broad, planar surgical surfaces.

WACOCELL Knitting
Open-weave knit. Drapes and conforms to irregular anatomy.

WACOCELL Layer
Multi-ply dense construction for use where greater absorptive capacity is required.

WACOCELL Puffy
Lofted fibrous batting. Intended for cavity packing and contoured surfaces.

Oxidized regenerated cellulose is an absorbable scaffold. Mechanism, indication, and outcome are determined by the surgeon and the case — refer to the IFU packaged with each product.
Mechanism of action
An absorbable cellulose scaffold.
On contact with blood, oxidized regenerated cellulose hydrates and forms a gelatinous mass. Local pH drops as carboxylic acid groups dissociate. The scaffold then resorbs through hydrolysis, typically within seven to fourteen days depending on volume applied and tissue context.
Refer to the Instructions for Use packaged with each product for indications, contraindications, and warnings.
